Construction of a district heat network and district heating connections with a length of about 1.5 km to 4 storage halls and the installation of four triple-function exchangers.

Poland

The challenge

Dalkia was entrusted with the task of constructing a heat network and heating connections with a length of approx. 1.5 km to 4 warehouse halls and building four triple-function heat exchangers.

The project required numerous consultations with the technical infrastructure and transport managers, including the city of Katowice and the Polish State Railways (PKP), as it required the crossing of 2 railroad tracks.

It was crucial for the Client to enter the project implementation phase as soon as possible. The challenge was to obtain all necessary construction permits in record time.

Solution

In just 6 months, Dalkia Polska Energia received all necessary approvals and started to develop a construction design for the heat network and heat connections with a total length of over 1.4 km. We have also made a technical design of four three-functional district heating substations.  After arranging formal issues and obtaining necessary permits, Dalkia also performed 2*105 m long steered drilling under the railway track. Coordinated all investment works on the constructi.
