Szopienice Combined Heat and Power Plant

As part of its investment strategy, Dalkia Polska Energia decarbonizes sources of heat. The Szopienice Combined Heat and Power Plant is generating heat in a more and more ecological way.

The challenge:

Dalkia Polska Energia decarbonizes its own sources of energy. The Szopienice Combined Heat and Power Plant had to be modernized in order to operate more ecologically. Dalkia Polska Solutions accepted the challenge and built a new gas boiler house at the Szopienice CHP. The project was a turnkey one, covering all of the stages, from design to commissioning.

The solution:

A new 10 MW gas boiler and a highly efficient CHP system generating electricity (0.999 MWe) and heat (1.2 MWt) were installed and launched at the Szopienice Combined Heat and Power Plant.

The new devices are powered with natural gas. The entire system has been connected to the heating network of Dalkia Polska Energia via new pipelines and a new pumping system. The heat generated at CHP Szopienice goes to the residents of Szopienice, Burowiec, and Dąbrówka Mała.

The benefits:

Environmental effect: reduction of CO2 emissions by 7,000 tons per year.
