Dielectric Tests

In our fully equipped research laboratory, we perform specialized voltage tests and inspections of electrical insulating equipment (H&S). Our goal is to guarantee maximum safety for personnel working on power installations and networks.

All measuring devices used for tests in the Dalkia Polska Industry laboratory have valid calibration certificates.

Brief description of the stations:

  • The insulating rod testing station is designed to perform tension tests of insulating rods in accordance with the PN-EN 60832 standard. The station enables single trial testing of rods with a maximum length of the working part of 1800 mm (6x300 mm). Longer bars should be tested in sections in several tests. The station enables testing of insulating rods from 1kV to 400 kV.
  • The test station for electrical insulating carpets and electrical insulating rugs is designed to perform voltage tests on electrical insulating carpets and insulating rugs in accordance with the PN-EN 61111 standard. Due to the variety of dimensions of electrical insulating carpets and insulating rugs in use, the station is universal and can be adapted to any size.
  • The test station for insulating platforms is designed to check the electrical strength of insulating platforms in accordance with the PN-EN 60060-3:2008 standard. An insulating platform is a type of additional protective equipment, made in the form of a platform used to isolate the employee standing on it from the ground.
  • The SW-1 station is intended for checking the correct operation of capacitive type voltage indicators made in accordance with the PN-IEC 61243-1:2007 standard for voltages up to 52 kV, and the SW-2 station for voltage indicators in the range of 52 -245 kV. 3.5.
  • The UPG-40 station for testing dielectric gloves and shoes is a fully automatic testing bath equipped with four measurement channels. This allows four independent tests to be carried out simultaneously in accordance with the harmonized standards PN-EN 60903 and 50321.

Test frequency

We carry out all service intervals and verification tests in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendations and the requirements of the standards applicable to the given equipment:

dielectric gloves, electrically insulating boots and shoes, FIREFIGHTER-type boots.

Every 6 months

insulating poles, evacuation hooks, insulating tongs, electrical insulating rugs and rugs, insulating platforms, voltage indicators and phase matchers.

Every 12 months

NOTE: If dielectric equipment fails the test, the
laboratory is obliged to destroy it. This note does not apply to voltage
indicators or phase comparators. At the customer's request, the indicator can
be sent back to the manufacturer for calibration or repair.

In addition, the HV Laboratory is obliged to follow the manufacturer's recommendations:

„For safety reasons and the requirements of the current normative system, the manufacturer of dielectric equipment "ACTIVATIO" orders the immediate withdrawal of equipment manufactured according to long-withdrawn standards, including, among others, voltage indicators manufactured based on the PN-E-08505:1973 standard, insulating rods manufactured based on the PN-EN-08502:1973 standard, as well as universal rods made of pipes empty ones manufactured in accordance with the PN-EN 60832:2002 standard and portable earthing devices manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the PN-E-08508:1976 standard. „

The HV Laboratory does not bear the costs of disposal of equipment that does not comply with the manufacturer's recommendations or equipment damaged during the test.

The dielectric equipment delivered for testing should be clean (as specified in the instructions issued by the manufacturer). If dirty equipment is delivered, an additional cleaning/drying fee will be charged.

What else can we do?

  • Working around the clock, the HV Laboratory is able to provide the EXPRESS service (for an additional fee). Depending on the quantity and type of equipment delivered, the time may vary. The main influence on the duration of the service will be, for example, the length of drying shoes and gloves after the examination.
  • By adding some appropriate equipment, e.g. a station for testing OMEGA CTS - 1 covers, a station for testing covers for CTS-2, CTS-3 insulators, we can start live testing of equipment, thus expanding the range of customers. It is also worth considering purchasing a station (or retrofitting the current one) for testing electrical insulating helmets.
  • In cooperation with representatives of ElektroVolt, Activation, we can propose, if the dielectric equipment fails the test, the purchase of new goods or replacement with new equipment.
  • As a laboratory, we can also test power tools using the PAT-806 meter.
  • All measuring devices used for measurements and tests have a valid calibration certificate.
