France

Challenge

MICHELIN is a French tyre manufacturer with its headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand, France. The company is the second largest manufacturer of tyres for space shuttles, aircraft, cars, heavy equipment, motorbikes, and bicycles in the world. The MICHELIN LA COMBAUDE plant specialises in heavy-load truck tyres.

MICHELIN therefore needs a partner who will carry out the renovation and modernisation of the boiler room and who will fulfil the requirements in terms of regularity and continuity of service and connection to the ELVIA BIOMASSE network in order to ensure the supply of heat to the buildings.

Solution

In 2010, Dalkia overhauls and modernises the steam heating system and implements an energy performance monitoring system through DESC (Dalkia Energy Savings Center). The company was also in charge of BIOMASSE ELVIA grid connection, management, and optimisation of air conditioning installation. It presents cost-cutting benefits that are expected to result in improved energy efficiency.
